Description

A rich and moist cake soaked in three types of milk, this Tres Leches Cake is a must-try dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and combine.
  4. Gradually fold in the flour mixture, followed by the milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool, then poke holes all over the top with a fork.
  7. In a bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream. Pour over the cake.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Whip together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled cake before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the cake overnight to allow it to soak up the milk mixture.
  • Top with fresh berries or fruit for an extra touch.
