Description

This Crab Meat Dip is a warm, creamy, cheesy appetizer loaded with lump crab, melted cheddar and Parmesan, garlic and Old Bay seasoning. Perfect for parties or cozy snack time, and ready in about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (plus more for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Crackers, bread, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C) and grease a small baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
  3. Fold in crab meat, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until well combined.
  4. Add salt and black pepper to taste, then stir in chopped parsley.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes (or until bubbly and golden on top).
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with extra parsley.
  8. Serve warm with crackers, toasted bread or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • Use fresh lump crab for best texture, but canned or imitation crab work as budget-friendly options.
  • If you like spice, increase the cayenne or add diced jalapeños.
  • For a lighter version, swap sour cream with Greek yogurt or use light cream cheese.
  • For gluten-free serving, use veggie sticks or gluten-free crackers.
  • If making ahead: mix all ingredients, refrigerate covered, then bake just before serving.
