Description

These crispy sesame falafel melts are paired with a delicious garlicky green tahini, making them a perfect indulgence for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes


Instructions

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight in water.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then blend them with parsley, cilantro, garlic, and spices until crumbly.
  3. Form the mixture into balls and roll them in sesame seeds.
  4. Fry the balls in oil until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Warm the pita breads and fill them with lettuce, tomatoes, and falafel balls.
  6. Drizzle with garlicky green tahini before serving.
