- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined. Fold in diced apples.
- Scoop about ¼ cup of batter per fritter onto the baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth and brush over warm fritters.
- Let glaze set briefly, then serve warm.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter — gentle folding keeps fritters light.
- Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for texture.
- Brush glaze while fritters are warm so it melts into each bite.
- You can add a pinch of extra cinnamon or nutmeg for deeper flavor.
