Description

Golden, cinnamon-sugar-coated roll-ups filled with cream cheese and fresh strawberries. A quick and sweet breakfast or brunch treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices soft white bread
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Spread the mixture on bread slices and sprinkle with chopped strawberries.
  4. Roll up each slice tightly and place seam-side down.
  5. Whisk together eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  6. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture to coat all sides.
  7. Heat butter in a skillet and cook roll-ups until golden brown on all sides (4–5 minutes).
  8. Roll warm roll-ups in cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  9. Serve immediately with extra strawberries or maple syrup.

Notes

  • Use fresh bread for easier rolling and better texture.
  • Flatten the bread evenly to prevent tearing.
  • Don’t overfill to avoid leakage during cooking.
  • Best served immediately for crispy texture.
