Description

Spicy Glazed Chicken Wings are crispy oven-baked wings coated in a sticky honey-hot glaze that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. Perfect for parties, game day, or an easy dinner without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange wings on the rack in a single layer and bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  5. While wings bake, combine honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, butter, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes in a saucepan.
  6. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.
  7. Transfer baked wings to a large bowl and toss with the glaze until fully coated.
  8. Return wings to the oven for 5–8 minutes to caramelize the glaze.

Notes

  • Pat wings dry thoroughly for maximum crispiness.
  • Adjust cayenne and hot sauce to control spice level.
  • Use a wire rack to allow airflow and prevent soggy wings.
  • Broil briefly for extra caramelization if desired.
