Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Mix in sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and lemon juice until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples gently to distribute evenly.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
