Description

A quick and flavorful shrimp and broccoli stir fry with a savory homemade sauce, ready in just 20 minutes — perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil, then broccoli, and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and pepper.
  6. Pour sauce into skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  8. Return shrimp to pan and toss to coat.
  9. Garnish and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen shrimp and pat dry before cooking.
  • Adjust sauce seasoning to taste (more honey for sweetness, more soy for saltiness).
  • Serve immediately for best texture.
