Ingredients
For the Chicken:
-
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/4 cup honey
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
-
2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
For the Creamy Rice:
-
1 cup long-grain rice
-
2 cups chicken broth
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1 tbsp butter
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Garnish:
-
Sliced green onions or sesame seeds
Instructions
-
Cook Rice – Combine rice, broth, and butter in a saucepan. Boil, then simmer covered for 15–20 minutes. Stir in cream and season.
-
Sear Chicken – Heat oil in skillet. Season chicken and cook 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
-
Make Sauce – Sauté garlic, then add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer. Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.
-
Glaze Chicken – Return chicken to pan, toss in sauce for 2–3 minutes.
-
Serve – Plate over rice. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
Notes
-
Chicken breasts are leaner; thighs are juicier.
-
Don’t overcook the garlic—it turns bitter quickly.
-
Rice can be made ahead and reheated with a splash of cream.
