For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)

  • 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)

For the Creamy Rice:

  • 1 cup long-grain rice

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Garnish:

  • Sliced green onions or sesame seeds


Instructions

  • Cook Rice – Combine rice, broth, and butter in a saucepan. Boil, then simmer covered for 15–20 minutes. Stir in cream and season.

  • Sear Chicken – Heat oil in skillet. Season chicken and cook 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  • Make Sauce – Sauté garlic, then add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer. Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.

  • Glaze Chicken – Return chicken to pan, toss in sauce for 2–3 minutes.

  • Serve – Plate over rice. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Chicken breasts are leaner; thighs are juicier.

  • Don’t overcook the garlic—it turns bitter quickly.

  • Rice can be made ahead and reheated with a splash of cream.
