Description

This Homemade Stromboli is a savory, cheesy Italian-American classic featuring mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, and Italian sausage wrapped in pizza dough and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • ½ cup sliced salami
  • ½ cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For topping & serving: 1 egg, beaten; 1 tablespoon melted butter; Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Layer pepperoni, salami, and Italian sausage on top of the cheese.
  5. Sprinkle Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  6. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log and pinch seams closed.
  7. Place seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg and melted butter.
  8. Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the dough to prevent leaks.
  • Use parchment paper for easy transfer and cleanup.
  • Let rest before slicing for neater servings.
