- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat 2–3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully drop small dollops of batter into the hot oil.
- Fry in batches, turning once, until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Serve immediately.
