- 1 cup brown sugar

- 1½ cups chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) bag soft caramels
- ⅓ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until combined into a soft dough.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press half the dough into the prepared pan to form the base layer.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with heavy cream, stirring until smooth. Add sea salt if desired.
- Pour the warm caramel over the base layer.
- Crumble the remaining dough evenly over the caramel.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Cool completely to set the caramel. Refrigerate before cutting for cleaner slices.
- Slice into bars and enjoy!
