Description

Cheeseburger Lava Cake is a juicy, cheese-stuffed burger bomb with molten cheddar, cream cheese, and crispy bacon at the center — sealed between two beef patties and baked until perfectly melty.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: lettuce, tomato, pickles, extra cheese slices, burger sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide meat into 8 equal portions and flatten into thin patties.
  3. In a small bowl, combine cheddar, cream cheese, and bacon bits for the filling.
  4. Spoon the filling into the center of 4 patties. Top each with another patty and seal the edges well. Use beaten egg to help seal.
  5. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each stuffed patty for 3–4 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer patties to a 375°F (190°C) oven and bake for 10–12 minutes.
  7. Toast the brioche buns until golden.
  8. Assemble burgers with toppings and serve hot while the center is molten.

Notes

  • Let cheese come to room temperature for even melting.
  • Use a thermometer to ensure patties reach 160°F internally.
  • Seal edges tightly to prevent cheese from leaking.
  • Customize with different cheeses or spicy elements.
