Description
Cheeseburger Lava Cake is a juicy, cheese-stuffed burger bomb with molten cheddar, cream cheese, and crispy bacon at the center — sealed between two beef patties and baked until perfectly melty.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits
- 4 brioche buns
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Optional: lettuce, tomato, pickles, extra cheese slices, burger sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Divide meat into 8 equal portions and flatten into thin patties.
- In a small bowl, combine cheddar, cream cheese, and bacon bits for the filling.
- Spoon the filling into the center of 4 patties. Top each with another patty and seal the edges well. Use beaten egg to help seal.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each stuffed patty for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Transfer patties to a 375°F (190°C) oven and bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Toast the brioche buns until golden.
- Assemble burgers with toppings and serve hot while the center is molten.
Notes
- Let cheese come to room temperature for even melting.
- Use a thermometer to ensure patties reach 160°F internally.
- Seal edges tightly to prevent cheese from leaking.
- Customize with different cheeses or spicy elements.
