Description
Soft, buttery crescent rolls filled with creamy cheesecake and sweet blueberries, baked until golden and topped with a simple vanilla glaze — a quick, cozy treat ideal for breakfast, brunch or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry, thawed)
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp sugar (for the filling)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (if frozen, thawed & dried)
- (Optional) 1 tsp lemon zest
- For the glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar, 1–2 tbsp milk, ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll out dough and separate into rectangles (or triangles); press seams together if needed.
- Spread a thin layer of the cream-cheese mixture over each dough piece.
- Scatter blueberries (and lemon zest, if using) evenly over the filling.
- Roll each piece like a cinnamon-roll log, then slice into spirals.
- Place rolls cut-side up on the prepared sheet, leaving space between them for expansion.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and pastry is cooked through.
- While baking (or just after), whisk glaze ingredients until smooth; adjust thickness if needed.
- Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve immediately, or at room temperature.
Notes
- If using frozen blueberries, thaw and pat them dry to avoid soggy pastry.
- For a flakier texture, you may substitute puff pastry for crescent dough.
- Glaze is optional — the rolls taste delicious without it, but glaze adds a sweet bakery-style finish.
- For a flavor twist: add a pinch of cinnamon, or substitute other berries (raspberries, strawberries) or fruit.
