Description

This Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza combines the flaky goodness of biscuits with rich sausage gravy, topped with melted cheese and eggs. Perfect for a hearty and delicious Southern-style breakfast!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sausage gravy (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan or baking sheet.
  • Prepare Biscuit Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the biscuit dough to fit the pizza pan. Press the dough into the pan, covering the bottom and slightly up the sides to form a crust.
  • Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onion softens. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly. Slowly whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in the cooked sausage and season with salt and pepper.
  • Assemble the Pizza: Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuit dough. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the gravy. Crack the eggs on top of the pizza, spacing them out evenly.
  • Bake: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuit crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. The eggs should be set but still slightly runny in the center.
  • Serve: Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, use hot sausage or add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • You can prepare the sausage gravy a day in advance to save time.
  • This pizza can be served with fresh fruit or hash browns for a complete breakfast.
