Description

This Beefy American Goulash is a warm, one-pot meal made with ground beef, elbow macaroni, and rich tomato sauce—perfect for cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups marinara or tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in beef broth, marinara, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and spices.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in elbow macaroni, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Optional: Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Stir frequently after adding pasta to prevent sticking.
  • Add cheese only if serving immediately for the best melt.
  • Use ground turkey or lentils for a lighter version.
  • Great for meal prep—flavors deepen overnight.
